NRM SG Hon Todwong meets his Burundi ruling party counterpart in Kampala ahead of the burrial of the Parliament of Uganda falled speaker.
The Secretary General of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) Rt Hon Richard Todwong yesterday received his Burundi counterpart Hon Joseph Ntakirutimana who paid a courtesy visit to mourn the death of former Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah L’Okori.
Hon Joseph Ntakirutimana was accompanied by Burundi’s ambassador to Uganda, Her Excellency Epiphanie Kabushemeye Ntamwana, together with a delegation of CNDD- FDD party in neighboring Burundi.
The officials held a meeting with NRM Secretary-General, the Rt Hon Richard Todwong and Deputy National Treasurer, Hon Jacqueline Kyatuheire at the Party Headquarters at Plot 10 Kyadondo road in Nakasero, Kampala.
After the meeting, Hon Todwong told journalists that both sides had deliberated on several issues that are of great concern on how to sustain historical ties and shared strategies on how both ruling parties and their governments can work in the interest of their citizens.
