Read moreHow CT Scan Ended Old Kampala Hospital Kidney Harvesting Saga. A 25-year old man who claims Old Kampala Hospital removed his kidney was born with just one organ, according to the results of a CT scan. After Muhammad Kabanda claimed Old Kampala Hospital removed his kidney without his permission, police took over the investigation and ordered the scan, which was done at Kampala Imaging Centre. However, the results of the abdomen scan revealed that Kabanda only had the right kidney at birth, a condition known as renal agenesis in medicine. According to doctors, kids who only have one kidney are completely healthy and lead regular lives. To maintain the health of their single kidney, they must be watched, nevertheless. Dr. Moses Byaruhanga, the Director of Police Health Services, handed the family the scan results on Saturday and said that Kabanda was born with one kidney that was larger than the average kidney and that he had numerous renal arteries, even though there is typically only one artery per kidney. "A renal artery is intended to be one, but in this case, there are several renal arteries present to maintain the right kidney's aberrant structure and make up for the left kidney's absence. This is what the scan shows," Dr. Byaruhanga said.He went on to say that it was ludicrous because the surgeon had chosen a tissue from the side of the body where there was no kidney. Because these tissues are compatible and difficult for the body to reject, Dr. Byaruhanga explains that when a surgeon requires a tissue to use during the procedure, it is extracted from the patient's body. Dr. Byaruhanga stated that when a patient needs a repair during surgery, the tissue must be taken from the patient because the body might reject a foreign tissue from another person and cause a reaction. He also added that the tissue is taken from a section of the body that has some fat and that the cutting to obtain a tissue is made on the surface, not deep into the body. ...
Read morePresident Yoweri Museveni has fired back at the European Union (EU) parliament over its proposed move to block the setup of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), saying Uganda will seek out another oil company if Total Energies decides to forego its plans to fulfill its commitment as agreed upon in the agreement. Museveni promises that Uganda will have its own oil by 2025. Museveni's comments came shortly after the Ugandan parliament mocked the EU parliament during a Friday session, with Thomas Tayebwa, the deputy speaker, denouncing their resolution as illiterate, racial, and founded on hearsay. Mr. Museveni hailed the Deputy Speaker’s comments and those of the Attorney General as their reassured Ugandans ...
