Ms Anna Reismann the recently appointed Country Representative for the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Uganda and South Sudan paid a courtesy visit to Hon Vincent W Bagiire the Permanent Secretary at Ministry of ICT & National Guidance.
Ms Anna Reissmann started her tour of duty on the 1st July 2020, replacing Mathias Kamp, who had served as Country Director since March 2015.
The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, is a German Political Foundation operating in over 120 countries.
The new Country Representative was welcomed to the Ministry by Hon. Vincent W Bagiire, the Permanent Secretary, who expressed appreciation for the cooperation between KAS and the Government of Uganda, which has lasted 20 years.
KAS has implemented civic education programmes in Uganda under the National Guidance component, the digitalization training for regional IT officers.
The organization has also supported open government solutions through the Government Citizen Interaction Centre (GCIC) a link between the central Government and the citizens focusing on service delivery.
Anna Reismann, has pledged a more robust engagement with the Government of Uganda, through the Ministry of ICT & National Guidance (MoICT&NG), and expanding the scope and reach of activities and programmes which are currently being implemented by the two parties.
The two principals also discussed the agenda and planning for the celebration of the 20 years of cooperation between KAS Uganda, and the Government of Uganda, and agreed to collaborate on a civic tech solutions in support of the Electoral Commission’s efforts to sensitize citizens on voter education and engagement.
