VIDEO: Security Guard Arrested Ferrying Dead Body, Deceased Identified. The territorial Police of Kawempe are investigating a case of murder against Gideon Nabasa, 31, a private security guard with Afrisafe Guard Company.
According to a Police report by ASP Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, on March 13th 2022 at about 4:30am Police officers on a motorized patrol in Kazo-Lugoba Zone Kaazo Ward, Nabweru Division Wakiso District found Nabasa carrying a sack on a motorcycle registration number UFG 635P.
Owoyesigyire notes that the officers were suspicious of what he was carrying and on asking for a search, they found a dead body of a Male adult suspected to be in his early 20s and the body had two wounds suspected to be as of a result of stabbing.
The suspect was immediately and a team of investigators was called in at the scene and the body was later conveyed to city mortuary Mulago for a post mortem.
“The suspect has been detained at Kawempe Police Station on allegations of murder, Owoyesigyire said.”
Today the police in Nansana Division have identified the dead body as that of Kagezi Amon, a resident of Kijangi village in Hoima district.
The Police spokesperson, Fred Enanga has said the deceased had hired a motorcycle registration number, UFG 635P on March 7, 2202, from Owakukikoru Denis, a businessman from Kijangi village.
Amon paid Denis shs10,000 for a self-drive to Buseruka town for private business.
However, Amon disappeared with the motorcycle and joined Nabasa Gideon and Twinamasiko Ivan at Katogo zone in Bwaise.
“It is unfortunate that the deceased was murdered at the home of the two suspects in Bwaise. Afterward, Nabasa Gideon removed the deceased’s clothing and stuffed the body of Kagezi Amon, in a sack,” Enanga said.
Enanga revealed that police carried out a search in their home in Katogo zone, Bwaise and while there, police recovered a mattress, and bed sheets stained with suspected blood. Also recovered were the clothes of the deceased, stained with blood, as well as other clothes.
Enanga said investigations to determine the motive of the murder are ongoing and Police is also trying to determine how a motorcycle stolen from Hoima ended up in Kampala.
