Accumulated Bank loan interests force Mbuya College School to close. As the government of Uganda is in the final stages of fully reopening the economy, many educational institutions mostly private ones are feared to fail to resume operations due to different reasons.
Talking about the above, Mbuya College School is already one of the private schools which will not be reopening in January 2022.
Parents, students, teachers, and workers at the institution are left with many questions than answers following the notice of the facility’s failure to reopen even if the government authorizes resuming of educational institutions.
This followed the ‘regrettable notice’ dated 1st December 2021 in which Prof. Nyeko Pen-Mogi the school Director announced the failure of the institution to reopen in January 2022.
According to Prof. Nyeko, this has been caused by the accumulation of bank loan interests which he said are a result of the country-wide closure of schools due to COVID-19 for two years now.
“Two years of closing the schools country-wide has affected many private schools Mbuya college is no exception. Due to accumulated bank loan interests Mbuya college school will not be able to open in January 2022 until further notice”, part of the notice read.
