KAMPALA — The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) will brief the Ministry of Education about Primary Leaving Examination (PLE 2020) performance on Wednesday, July 14 at State House, Nakasero before releasing the results on July 16, 2021.
According to UNEB, a total of 749,811 candidates were registered to sit for PLE 2020. UNEB needs to ensure that examination results are released earlier to fit in the available school calendar.
The Executive Secretary of UNEB Mr. Odongo Dan revealed that over 68% of the candidates (513,091) are products of the Universal Primary Education program.
By gender, girls are the majority at 53% (395,855) while 353,956 (47%) are boys, and among these 58 are inmates who sat for their exams from Luzira Maxim State Penitentiary.
The total number of candidates in the academic year 2020 was above the 2019 figure of 695,468 with a range of over 10,000 candidates.
