The Swearing-In Ceremony for Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni the president-elect of the Republic of Uganda will be held on 12th May 2021 at Kololo ceremonial grounds in Kampala under the theme; “Securing the Future”. The day has been gazette as a public holiday for the first time in the country’s history.
On the 14th January 2021 the citizens went to polls to elect the President and Members of Parliament. In a democratic process, several political parties participated in the exercise where NRM’s National Chairman Yoweri Museveni won with 6,042,898 which is 58.38% of all the votes cast at the Presidential level. The total number of voters that participated in this election was 10,744,319.
In a scientific setting, only 4,042 people will attend, seating in clusters of 200 people tents and following the Standard Operating Procedures as guided by the Ministry of Health against the Covid 19 pandemic. The event will give the National Resistance Movement political party legitimacy over the next five years in leadership as a massive party.
All invited guests have undertaken a Covid 19 test three days to the D-day. The results have been centralized in a database at Kololo and will be used as a basis for admission to the ceremonial grounds tomorrow. Some of the guests have already arrived in the country including Hon. Naledi Pandor, Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of Republic of The South Africa and H.E. Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo President Of The Republic Of Somalia among others.
The proceedings of the function will be broadcasted live on national televisions and radios.
