Professor Obua noted that most candidates were able to Access their Examination centers with ease since the two days on which they were examined had moderately favourable weather and that the overall performance of the P.7 candidates of 2024 showed great improvement compared to the later. He also added that UNEB registered a higher number of candidate with special needs and that their performance has greatly improved this time round especially the category of the deaf whose ungraded percentage was 44% last year and of current has decreased to 21%.
Thanks to the better tactics devised by the ministry of education and sports together with UNEB in order to improve inclusion of the disabled in these examinations.
“the Uganda Prisons has also established a new Examination centre at Mbarara main prison to help in rehabilitation of inmates” the professor noted
However, Obua emphasized that the issue of Examination malpractice has continued to soar up to date, citing cases like teachers sneaking into Examination rooms to write answers for the candidates. UNEB has continued to seek better tactics to tackle the vice.
