Chil Group and Reckitt Unveil Groundbreaking Partnership to Enhance Hygiene Education in Ugandan Schools
In a move aimed at transforming hygiene education in schools across Uganda, Chil Group, a pioneering health and hygiene innovation company, has today (November 28, 2024—Birmingham, UK) announced a significant partnership with Reckitt, the renowned manufacturer of trusted brands such as Dettol, Harpic, and JIK.
The partnership, which builds upon Reckitt’s initial investment in Chil Group through its WINFUND program in 2023, focuses on the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program. This comprehensive initiative seeks to improve hygiene facilities and provide impactful education in schools, with the ultimate goal of creating a healthier and more sustainable environment for school-going children.
According to Dr. Shamim Nabuuma, Founder of Chil Group, “Reckitt has been a game-changer for us. Their support in 2023 gave a big boost to our telemedicine projects. Now, this renewed commitment with the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program allows us to tackle a key challenge related to hygiene education for school-aged children. Together, we will educate, empower, and inspire schoolchildren, instilling healthy hygiene habits.”
The initial phase of the program will target 1,500 schools in Uganda, empowering children, teachers, and families with practical knowledge about hygiene and sustainability. This collaborative effort is expected to drive lasting change in schools, communities, and among children.
The partnership between Chil Group and Reckitt brings together two organisations committed to improving health and hygiene outcomes.
As the program rolls out, it is expected that there will be provision of valuable insights into the effectiveness of collaborative efforts in driving positive change in hygiene education through a combination of expertise and resources, with an aim to create a significant impact in Uganda and beyond.
