Kampala to Host 5th Bi-Annual CEO Retreat as Venue Shifts from Gulu
The Presidential CEO Forum (PCF) is set to host its 5th Bi-Annual CEO Retreat in Kampala on September 13-14, 2024, under the patronage of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The event aims to transform Uganda into a commercialized production and logistical hub for exports, focusing on stimulating collaboration between the public and private sectors and exploring innovative solutions and investment opportunities.
Over 1,000 participants are expected to attend the retreat at the Serena Hotel in Kampala. The event seeks to accelerate Northern Uganda’s potential as a cornerstone of Uganda’s economic landscape, with a focus on agricultural and logistical advancements. The theme, “Battle to Green Field: Transforming Northern Uganda into a Commercialized Production and Logistical Hub for Exports,” underscores the Forum’s commitment to sustainable growth and inclusive prosperity. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be the Chief Guest on the final day of the retreat.
The two-day retreat will feature insightful panel discussions, strategic sessions, and networking opportunities designed to stimulate collaboration between the public and private sectors. Key stakeholders, including government ministries and private enterprises, will convene to explore innovative solutions and investment opportunities crucial for Northern Uganda’s economic transformation.
According to Emmanuel Katongole, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Presidential CEO Forum, the focus on agricultural and logistical advancements will have a significant impact on Northern Uganda’s economic contribution to the country’s development agenda. “Agriculture is the backbone of Uganda’s economy, contributing a quarter of the national GDP and employing 70% of the population. The retreat aims to address the sector’s slow growth pace by fostering partnerships between government and the private sector.”
Mr. Charles Abola a commercial agriculturist from Northern Uganda will be the key note Speaker at the 5th Bi-annual Retreat and various panel discussions will feature key speakers like Mr. Elly Twineyo the Executive Director, Uganda Export Promotion Board, Maj. Gen. (Rtn) David Kasura the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries (MAAIF), Mr. Peter Oscar Brunn the Managing Director – Northern Uganda Agricultural Center (NUAC), Prince Bobby Kimbuggwe the Founder and CEO of Pure Grow Africa Ltd, Ms. Maxima Nsimenta the CEO/Founder, Nyowe Ventures/ Livara, Mr. Paul Wanyama Sigombe the Executive Director – Real IPM Uganda among others.
The decision by the government of Uganda to host the Bi-Annual CEO Retreats is commendable because it provides a platform for CEOs to converge, fostering a collaborative environment that can drive sustainable economic transformation.
