The Trade Ministry is dead as a consequence of Geraldine Ssali. Graha Details News desk has learnt that due to the greed of Ms. Geraldine Ssali, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives permanent secretary, the trade ministry is under horrible tragedy.
Geraldine, the permanent secretary, and the line ministers, Francis Mwebesa and David Bahati, are at odds, and this has caused the ministry to become mired in confusion.
Even the top management meetings at the ministry no longer take place due to the never-ending internal power struggles between the PS and her ministers.
Our sources have noted that after being sacked from the currently troubled National Social Security Fund (NSSF), where she used to earn 40 million Uganda shillings per month, Geraldine has resorted to fighting for every coin given that she is not earning as much as she used to at the workers’ or savers’ house.
As part of her micromanagement strategy to make ends meet, she even now continues to fight for cars, steals fuel, and even buys tea and drinks for any meetings.
The ministry that is supposed to be advising the nation on how to form strategic trading alliances is mired in small-scale disputes with individuals.
While our representatives are busy playing roles of secretaries and office attendants like buying tea bags, and samosas to make a difference for survival, our competitors like Kenya are finalizing important trade agreements in the region and beyond.
Additionally, it should be noted that Geraldine is currently working to persuade the Ministry of Science and Technology to join the Trade ministry in exchange for the ability to embezzle funds from the ministry.
It is upon these grounds that the government’s Inspector General needs to take an interest in the ministry’s poor management before it is too late.
