NRM Fronts Oulanyah’s Son Ojok for Omoro County Parliamentary Seat. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has met the ruling National Resistance Movement party members eyeing Omoro County Parliamentary seat and they have agreed to step down for Andrew Ojok Oulanyah as their sole candidate for the by-election.
Shortly after the meeting that took place on Tuesday at the President’s home in Rwakitura, the National Resistance Movement endorsed Ojok Andrew Oulanyah as the sole flag bearer in the upcoming by-election to fill the vacant seat left by the demise of Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
During the meeting in Rwakitura, the party chairman Gen Yoweri Museveni, who chaired the meeting agreed that Ojok Oulanyah was best suited to compete for the seat and replace his father.
As a result of this meeting, the other 3 aspirants who had earlier shown interest in the seat have all stepped down in honour of the fallen Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah.
Andrew Ojok Oulanyah is the eldest son of the late speaker of Uganda’s Parliament RT. Hon Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah was also the Omoro County Member of the 11th Parliament of Uganda.
Ojok is a senior IT professional working with the National Information Technology Authority-Uganda (NITA-U) an autonomous statutory body established under the NITA-U Act 2009, to coordinate and regulate Information Technology services in Uganda under the general supervision of the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance.
