The former Minister of General Duties in the office of the Prime Minister Canon Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut has warned Ugandans against hate speech on social media especially Facebook and Whatsapp.
Karoro Okurut who is now the special presidential advisor on public relations was giving out the New Year’s message at her home in Bwatogo cell, Katungu in Central division, Bushenyi Ishaka Municipality in Bushenyi district on Sunday 2nd January 2022.
Karoro said that Ugandans can use social media like WhatsApp and Facebook to post developmental matters rather than abusing each other which are uncalled for.
The former Bushenyi district Woman MP also thanked President Museveni for being a hero in the fight against Covid-19 arguing that Uganda is the leading country in Africa as far as this fight is concerned.
“Like when AIDS broke out in Uganda in the late 1980s, he came out and told people what to do, that’s what he has even done during this covid-19 time because our president is special. He cannot keep quiet and see Ugandans dying, I thank him so much” said Karooro.
Karooro rallied all Ugandans to go for covid-19 vaccination arguing that it can save their lives even when they contract the new Omicron variant.
