Malaria is a life-threatening disease caused by parasites that are transmitted to people through the bites of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes. It is preventable and curable. –World Health Organization (WHO)
Facts about Malaria:
▪️Malaria is still the number one cause of illness and death in our communities.
▪️Every day over 16 people die due to Malaria.
▪️Malaria is a serious disease transmitted by a bite of an infected female anopheles mosquito.
▪️Not all fever is Malaria. Always test before any medication
▪️Malaria, if not treated early, will present with convulsions, anaemia, vomiting, dehydration, abortion and even death which can be can be misinterpreted as witchcraft.
